Award-winning cider maker, Sandford Orchards, is thrilled to launch Wilde Cherry Cider (ABV 4%). It is a deliciously sweet cider, made from English apples and cherries and is bursting with fruit flavours. It is the latest addition to the Sandford Orchards flavoured cider range and will be available from mid July in 500ml bottles RRP £2.70 from www.sandfordorchards.co.uk as well as selected retail outlets, pubs and hospitality venues.

Barny Butterfield, Chief Cidermaker at Sandford Orchards comments: “We wanted to expand our range of fruit flavoured ciders and we were looking for an English fruit to complement our English cider apples. I was reading up about the history of cider and came across a mention of Mazzard cherries being added to cider in the sixteenth century. Inspired by this, we created our own version and it seems those old cider makers knew what they were doing. We are delighted with our Wilde Cherry cider, our new interpretation of their old idea!’

‘Wilde Cherry’ Cherry Cider (ABV 4%) is a deliciously sweet and tangy cider, bursting with cherry fruit and a hint of Bakewell tart. This luscious blend of fresh English apples and cherries is a celebration of British produce and is a perfect summer drink packed full of fruit flavours.

Founded in 2002, independent, family-owned Sandford Orchards is based in Crediton, Mid Devon in the oldest working cider mill in the UK. The area has long been known as one of the most fertile parishes in all of Britain, both for its grazing and ability to grow apples. Crediton sits in the lee of the moors, so receives the right amount of rain and the right units of heat in summer.

Sandford Orchards takes a fresh, natural and low impact approach to producing cider. Combining tradition and innovation, Sandford Orchards produces an award-winning range of core session, traditional, fine and fruit ciders.
