Farmyard Frozen launches crowdfunding campaign, with Jarrolds first to invest

Award-winning, Norfolk-based ‘fine frozen’ food brand Farmyard has today (Monday 9 September) launched a crowdfunding campaign.

Award-winning, Norfolk-based ‘fine frozen’ food brand Farmyard has today (Monday 9 September) launched a crowdfunding campaign. The ‘fine-dine-in’ company, founded by the culinary creatives behind Michelin Guide listed Farmyard restaurant, Andrew Jones and Hannah Springham, has its sights set on national expansion. Norfolk institution Jarrolds has a longstanding relationship with the Farmyard team and has already invested as part of its wider Growth Fund initiative.

Nick Steven-Jones is chief executive officer of the Jarrold Group. “As part of our ongoing commitment to Norwich and Norfolk, we launched the Jarrolds Growth Fund in February 2024. A pot of £100,000 will be released every year to support Norfolk businesses looking to propel their growth,” he explains.
“We love the Farmyard Frozen brand because Andrew and Hannah share so many of the same values as Jarrolds when it comes to creating exceptional products and wonderful experiences for customers,” Mr Steven-Jones continues. “Like us, they are ambitious and excited by the prospect of growth and moving into new areas. By demonstrating our confidence in the potential of Farmyard Frozen to expand into a national brand, we hope that lots more local people will be tempted to buy a share of this delicious business opportunity.”

To celebrate this new partnership, Farmyard are making a splash in the Jarrolds Food Hall with a ‘shop floor takeover’ for the whole of September. They’ll be hard to miss, with an assortment of neon pink freezers, cheeky banners and scrumptious, handcrafted goodies taking centre stage.

Farmyard and Jarrolds invite customers to drop by and hear more about the collaboration and the crowdfunding opportunity.

“We’re tickled neon pink to announce that as of today, Jarrolds owns a piece of the ‘fine frozen’ Farmyard pie!” says Hannah Springham, managing director of Farmyard Frozen. “Not only have we managed to achieve the first part of our investment raise just as the campaign launches, but it’s from such an incredibly well-established, high-end brand. To have their buy-in is everything as it gives our funding campaign serious clout. We’re buzzing for the next chapter of growth, which we now feel even more confident about with Jarrolds by our side. Bring on the shop floor takeover.”

Jarrolds is also celebrating its Foodie Fortnight from Monday 18 September to Sunday 1 October, so the timing of the Farmyard event could not be more perfect. At various times throughout September, Farmyard will be at Jarrolds with decadent and delicious samples of their best-selling dishes for customers to try.
