The Food Chain Innovation Challenge, hosted by Lineage, the world’s largest global temperature-controlled warehouse REIT, today announced an extension of its applicant deadline. Applicants now have an additional three weeks to enter, with the final cut-off announced as the 21st October 2024.

The competition invites students and startups to develop and pitch innovative solutions tackling food waste. Participants are asked to pitch their existing ideas across these four specific areas:

  • Reducing food waste
  • Innovative food preservation techniques
  • Access to nutritious food
  • Data-driven insights and analytics

Regional events will take place in three global locations: London on November 14th, Amsterdam on November 19th and San Francisco on November 19th. During each event, students and startups will present their solutions to an esteemed regional judging panel.

Judges across the events include Linegage Executives, FareShare, Wrap, ReFed, Make Food Not Waste and FEBA. You can find a full list of judges here.

The judges will select a regional winner, who will be awarded a $5,000 cash prize and an invite to the grand final event on December 2nd. One grand final winner will be chosen to receive a $50,000 prize and an invite into a six-month executive-led incubator program tailored to their unique business goals.
