Aldi Ramps Up Plant-Based Menu This Veganuary.

With a staggering 3.5 million people* expected to take part in 2020, Veganuary is growing each year, and so is supermarket Aldi’s vegan offering. With an array of new product launches set to hit stores in the New Year, Aldi will have what you need to swap your regular favourites for a plant-based start to 2020.

The new Loma Linda Fishless Tuna, TUNO (£1.19, per can) is the perfect guilt-free sandwich or salad filling. Made from textured soy protein, and flavoured with seaweed powder and vegan fish flavourings, the fish-free tuna comes in two sumptuous flavours – TUNO Mayonnaise and TUNO Spring Water.

With only 0.7g of saturated fat per 100g (TUNO Mayonnaise) and 0g per 100g (TUNO Spring Water), this fish-free tuna is the perfect fuss-free healthy swap, which tastes just as good as the real thing. In stores from 2nd January.

Vegan sausage rolls were all the rage last year and things are about to get even more interesting with Aldi’s new Plant Menu Vegan Sausage Roll (99p each). Available in two tasty flavours – No Pork or BBQ Jackfruit, these meat-free sausage rolls don’t compromise on taste, texture OR satisfaction, it’s so hard to believe they’re not meat. Available in store from 2nd January as a Specialbuy.

For a hassle-free, vegan option on-the-go, Aldi’s Limited Edition Eat & Go Korean BBQ Style Chick’n Sandwich will be available to buy from 2nd January. Swap your usual for this succulent sandwich filled with chicken style pieces, smothered in a Korean style BBQ sauce and topped with pink pickled onions, vegan mayonnaise and spinach, all culminating in a Korean flavour sensation.

Alternatively, for a different spice combination, the Eat & Go Vegan Onion Bhaji with Sweet Potato & Cauliflower Wrap (£1.79) is packed with onion bhaji, spiced cauliflower and sweet potato purée, pickled red cabbage, mango and apricot chutney and spinach, all parcelled up in a spiced tortilla wrap. Available to buy from 02 January

The Inspired Cuisine Vegan Ready Meals (£2.49, 380g) allow you to enjoy your staple comfort foods, whilst also getting a daily dose of goodness. Available in Mushroom Bolognese and Three Bean Chilli, you’ll love the meat-free take on these winter classics.

Back by popular demand and returning to Aldi’s frozen range this year are the Plant Menu Vegan Ready Meals (1.99, 400g). Available in Smoky BBQ Jackfruit, Red Pepper & Mango Curry and Yellow Thai Curry for whatever your tastebuds fancy, these frozen favourites are both healthy and low-fuss. Available in-store until March.

The Plant Menu Vegan Pizza (£1.75) is the perfect plant-based alternative to the nation’s favourite fast food offering. There’s an exciting pizza topping for everyone on offer; choose from BBQ Jackfruit, Spicy Cauliflower or ‘Bacon’ & Mushroom. Meat-free but certainly not flavour-free: why not make the swap and try a plant-based twist on the Italian classic this Veganuary? Available in-store from 31st December until March.

The Plant Menu Vegan Rosemary & Onion Sausages (£0.99, 300g) are meat-free sausages that resemble the real-deal in both shape, size and taste. Bursting with flavour, they’re the ideal swap for Britain’s breakfast staple. Available to buy from 30th December until March.

Also joining the range are Aldi’s Specially Selected Vegan Parcels (£2.99 for 2), hand-made crispy vegan pastry parcels, golden on the outside and packed full of delicious roasted vegetables, herbs and spices on the inside. Available in BBQ Jackfruit and Spicy Firecracker Vegetable for the more adventurous eater, these parcels are the perfect snack or party accompaniment. Available instore from January.

For a plant-based offering to satisfy your sweet tooth, the Leone Vegan Choc Stick (£1.49, pack of 3) is available in the creamy flavours of both classic and almond, allowing you to enjoy your must-have indulgence without any of the guilt.
