Lake District inspired family cookbook, Embellish With Relish, which was launched at London’s Speciality and Fine Food Fair in late 2019, has gone on to become a big success, selling its entire first print run of over 3,000 copies.

As a result, the book written by Maria Whitehead, with forward by food writer and broadcaster Nigel Barden, is set to be reprinted. The second print run of a further 3,000 copies of the book will begin to arrive on bookshop shelves just as people begin to look for inspiration for outdoor dining.

One thing is for certain they won’t go far wrong with this cookbook, especially with classic recipes like Greek minted lamb burgers, summer ham hock and asparagus salad and sticky chilli chicken to try.

Containing over 50 individual recipes and mouth-watering food photography the cookbook brings together a selection of simple but satisfying meals to inspire home cooks to use kitchen cupboard staples created by Hawkshead Relish to help liven up family mealtimes.

“Embellish With Relish seems to have resonated with our customers and with home cooks up and down the country. It’s not the sort of cookbook people struggle with, the recipes are straightforward and easy to use, there’s also a great selection too. There’s a selection of family favourites, classic dishes, some inventive creations and naturally a selection of contemporary dishes, so that there’s something for everyone to try. We are proud of the results and of the fact that people are using it to create dishes to brighten up their family mealtimes, which is exactly what we intended,” says Maria.
