Three Hares, Sedbergh, in the Cumbrian Dales, transformed into a deli by its owners Nina Matsunaga and James Ratcliffe in 2020, has just launched a range of ‘everyday meals at home’, available to order online, for delivery nationally.

Because of the current circumstances we are all experiencing we are at home most of the time, working from home, schooling at home and eating at home. Inevitably most of us are probably dreaming of a time when we can dine out at our favourite eateries, but for the time being we’re stuck in doors.

To bring a bit of cheer to meals time and take the hassle out of deciding what to make, multi-award-winning head chef Nina Matsunaga and her team at the Black Bull, Sedbergh, have created a range of ‘everyday meals at home’.

These everyday meals are perfect for the whole family to enjoy, they’re tasty, and packed full of fresh seasonal ingredients. Above all they’re easy to prepare, no fuss meals, which also means there’s no need to stand staring at a sink of full pots and pans after you’ve enjoyed your family meal together.

Nina’s new weekly changing menu contains classic favourites and more unusual Japanese inspired dishes from her heritage, all of course using the same high-quality ingredients that she is renowned for. Nina has done all the hard work, so all you need to do is cook or heat things up using a grill, oven or a microwave and then simply plate up to serve.

Choose from a weekly changing selection of homemade seasonal dishes, including Japanese Fried Chicken, Venison Wellington, British White Beef Cottage Pie, alongside vegetarian options such as Mushroom Casserole. Special menu options will also be available from time to time, also making use of the incredible quality locally reared produce farm available in and around Sedbergh, including Mansergh Hall pork and Howgill Herdwick and Howgill Hereford Beef.

Nina commented: “It’s been a very rewarding experience devising new at home menus. Finding the perfect combination of ingredients and tastes is always invigorating, especially when you have the opportunity to create hearty and delicious dishes for people to enjoy in the comfort of their own homes. As a chef, I feel like I have an obligation to those that eat my food to source sustainably and to include the highest quality local ingredients in all of my menus to ensure that people enjoy my food no matter where they eat it.’’

Nina’s take on at home dining means that her customers can now experience her uniquely inspired dishes at an affordable price which means you can enjoy a different meal every evening of the week. Meals can be ordered and paid for directly from the website https://threeharesdeli.co.uk/shop/
