Soanes Poultry, the award-winning East Yorkshire poultry specialist has sourced its latest delivery vehicle from local Hull company Paneltex, who has supplied them with a bespoke vehicle to service its customers throughout Yorkshire.

Soanes Poultry has commissioned the vehicle, which is a 7.2 tonne Iveco Daily 72C chassis cab fitted with a Paneltex insulated body and a GAH J503 direct drive refrigeration system

Of the commission, Paneltex Managing Director Chris Berridge said: “Soanes traditionally buy 7.5 tonne vehicles but the 7.2 tonne Iveco does the same job as a 7.5 tonne truck because it’s a lightweight vehicle with excellent payload.”

Chris adds, “The kerb weight of the combined Paneltex body on the Iveco chassis is only 3580 kg meaning that the payload is an impressive 3620 kg, enabling it to be more efficient than a typical 7.5 tonne vehicle.”

Soanes Poultry’s General Manager is delighted with the collaboration: “We pride ourselves on buying goods and services as locally as possible, so it’s good to support both Paneltex and Market Weighton company, Provins Signs who provided the graphics.”

The latest vehicle brings the total number of refrigerated delivery vehicles in Soanes fleet to 13.

Soanes Poultry is a family owned business that has been rearing and preparing chicken for over 70 years. It employs over 100 people and sells its chicken to butchers and independent retailers in Yorkshire and to wholesalers nationwide.

Operating out of a 12,000 square metre factory in Hull, Paneltex Ltd is a leading UK manufacturer of refrigerated and specialised commercial vehicle bodies, producing everything from the largest trailers to the smallest vans.
