Having previously completed consultancy projects for Premier Foods, Leading UK Specialist Logistics and Supply Chain Consultancy – Gideon Hillman Consulting, were contacted, and were requested by the Premier Foods to develop a strategy to optimise and where possible consolidate logistics operations of their sweet treats and grocery businesses.
The Logistics team at Gideon Hillman Consulting, conducted an initial centre of gravity analysis, alongside proposing various scenario models for numbers and location of depots. This initial review, enabled the Gideon Hillman Consulting team to provide Premier Foods with practical, and realistic solutions, of which the most cost effective option was the consolidation of Premier Foods logistics operations into a single Depot based in the Tamworth area. The next stage was to carry out a tender process which has resulted in their 650,000 sq.ft. site in Tamworth and UK distribution being operated by XPO logistics.
With the support of the Logistics and Supply Chain Consultants at Gideon Hillman Consulting, Premier Foods have now been successfully provided with a fully integrated and seamless solution to support their manufacturing and distribution operations.
