Meat-BALLS To IKEA! Frankie & Benny’s Dish Out Free Meatballs To IKEA Customers.

17 October, 19

Frankie & Benny’s today launches a campaign to prove their meatballs are the best on the high street – with its first target being flat-pack specialists IKEA.

Swedish meatballs are supposed to be the cornerstone of the IKEA experience and the furniture giant sells two million of them every day.

They’re famous and one of the brand’s most prized assets but that’s about to change forever after Frankie & Benny’s have staked their claim that their meatballs are the best!

The popular Italian American restaurant with over 230 locations nationwide will serve it up to customers with FREE Meatballs Al Forno or the new Vegan Plantballs Italiano for furniture shoppers this weekend (18,19th & 20th October) as they celebrate the launch of their new menu.

If you’re shopping at an IKEA this weekend, bring your receipt to the nearest Frankie & Benny’s next door and they’ll give you their delicious iconic Italian-American meatballs – for FREE.

The Italian-American restaurant will reward worn out shoppers at eighteen Frankie & Benny’s near the furniture stores with the tasty offer – the perfect preparation for painstaking furniture construction when they get home. And some light relief on the wallet too.

Frankie’s will also have meatball-armed sampling teams on-the-ground in Croydon, Southampton, and Leeds across the 18th, 19th& 20th to give IKEA shoppers a little taste of the meatballs they can enjoy in restaurant.

The delicious Al Forno recipe features soft lemon and herb pork meatballs with a rich tomato and chilli sauce, topped with mozzarella and baked in the oven – served with Ciabatta bread. And the equally delicious new Vegan Plantballs Italiano are made with pulled oats, broad bean & pea, served in a spicy tomato sauce with a vegan mozzarella alternative and rocket.

Frankie & Benny’s launched the campaign today with a series of cheeky adverts (see images) spotted outside their Meatball-making rival’s stores across the UK including:

• FREE MEATBALLS Served on furniture already erected
• MAMMA MIA My my, how can you resist our meatballs
• On the top of spaghetti all covered in cheese, forget Swedish meatballs because ours are FREE

Elise Ash, Frankie & Benny’s Brand Director, said:

“We’re really proud of our new Meatballs Al Forno and Plantballs Italiano recipes so who better to serve it up to than the home of meatballs in the UK. “We felt exhausted shoppers could do with a hearty Italian-American inspired dish before they head home for some DIY and hopefully the free meatballs offer will save them dishing out even more money.

“It’s all a bit of light-hearted fun and we can’t wait for the nation to taste the new recipe.”

The new vegan Plantballs Italiano is just one new dish on the newly launched menu and rebrand with Frankie & Benny’s going back to their Italian American roots and focussing on quality food in an authentic setting.

The offer is redeemable at the following Frankie & Benny’s restaurants on the 18th, 19th & 20th October from 12 pm:

Ashton Moss, Warrington, Straiton, Gateshead Metrocentre, Glasgow Braehead, Leeds Centre 27, Sheffield Centertainment, Croydon, Greenwich Bugsby Way, Lakeside, Wembley, Nottingham Giltbrook, Bristol Cabot Circus, Cardiff Dunleavy Drive, Exeter, Milton Keynes Xscape, Milton Keynes Kingston, Southampton.
