Henderson Technology has installed EDGEPoS into the new superstore Fresh n Save supermarket in Burton on Trent, Staffordshire which opened on 10 April 2021. A family business, the store is co-owned and run by brothers Sajed and Jabbar Hussian, with Jabbar’s son Faizaan Hussain managing it.
The new Asian supermarket is the first of its kind in Burton on Trent and the team took two months to complete the full refit of the unit. “Our Fresh n Save superstore is packed full of fruit and vegetables, frozen food, chilled items, halal meat and household essentials. It also sells a wide range of goods which attracts a number of people from the community. We had a range of special opening offers for customers and with the start of Ramadan approaching; we wanted to give customers a reason to keep coming shopping with us,” said Sajed Hussain.
On choosing EDGEPoS co-owner Jabbar Hussain said: “We researched the market and had heard a lot of positive feedback about the EDGEPoS system, and decided to contact Henderson Technology for a demonstration. We were immediately impressed by the simplicity of use and the extensive functionality of the cashier till. Features such as self populating PLUs on each till were an attractive feature as we have so many products instore; and the integration of the checkout scales at each till make a much speedier transaction time and ensures all weighed products are handled by the cashier and therefore recorded accurately at the till.”
Faizaan Hussain the store’s manager added: “The functionality on the back office is far beyond any other system we have used in any of our stores. We are able to maintain stock control and the live reporting, automated report scheduling and authority levels have been a great help when operating and managing our store. The advanced age checking on the till is a fantastic feature too on the tills.”
