The team behind multi-award-winning bakery Lovingly Artisan bakery, have been shortlisted as finalists in the 2021 Farm Shop & Deli Awards in the Bakery category representing the North West region.

Over 150 businesses from across the UK enter the awards this year representing nine regions, East Anglia, Midlands, Northern Ireland, North East, North West, South East, South West, Scotland and Wales across 12 award categories.

Each year the Awards play an important role in supporting, and celebrating, the UK’s independent, specialist retail market, however, this year the Awards are shining a spotlight on how specialist retailers have supported their community, staff, customers, and suppliers throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Now an expert judging panel made up of industry experts led by broadcaster and journalist Nigel Barden, are working out which businesses will become ‘Commended Retailers’ and ‘Best in Region Winners’ across the UK. Nigel will be joined by fellow expert judges including food writer and co-chair Elaine Lemm, Editor of The British Baker, Amy North; Fresh Foods Reporter at The Grocer, Henry Sandercock; Branch Manager for Paxton & Whitfield Jermyn Street, London, Hero Hirsh; Head of Trading and Marketing for Booths, John Gill and Head of consultancy business Delicious Planet, Victoria Robertshaw. The judging panel will also include a number of previous Retailer of the Year winners.

The winners will be announced live at 3.00pm on Monday 5th July at the Farm Shop & Deli Show, which is held at Birmingham’s NEC.

All of the award entrants and judges are now looking forward to the UK Food & Drink Show, which this year returns between 05th -07th July and includes the Farm Shop & Deli Show, the Food & Drink Expo, the National Convenience Show, The Forecourt Show, Foodex and The Ingredients Show, all under one roof at the NEC Birmingham.
