Commercial vehicle contract hire and fleet management company, Prohire Limited has made a further major investment in rental vehicles for 2019. The move follows a similar rental fleet expansion in January and both investments have been prompted by increased demand from both new and existing customers, especially in the temperature-controlled sector.

The latest investment comprises a further 80 vehicles including rigids, curtain-siders, panel vans and refrigerated vehicles in a range of sizes from three and a half to seven and half tonnes. Specifications include tail lifts as well as drop-sided bodies, the Prohire rental fleet is specified to reflect the specialist requirements of customers in industries from chilled food to stationery suppliers to builders’ merchants. The expansion also includes latest generation DAF XF480 SuperSpace tractor units. All vehicles are Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) compliant to ensure usability by London-based customers, operating within the London congestion zone.

Commenting on the rental expansion, Prohire’s Group Sales & Marketing Director, Andrew Morley said,

“As our contract hire business continues to grow, we are adding to our rental fleet to ensure we can give full and immediate support to customers at peak times, using the appropriate specialist vehicles and ancillary equipment. It is essential that we offer a flexible and customer-led service and this investment ensures we can continue to do so.

“It is also reflective of the rental market in general and the need for all fleet operators to have the latest specification and fuel-efficient vehicles to enable customers to meet the standards demanded by ongoing legislation, not least on environmental performance.”

Prohire supplies commercial vehicles and full fleet support services to a wide range of business sectors including foodservice and catering, chilled food and pharmaceuticals, builders’ merchants, leisure retail and the brewing industry as well as to specialist logistics companies.
