State-Of-The-Art Facility Open And Ready To Change The Sector.

23 November, 18

Earlier today, Friday 23rd November 2018, Halo were joined by key people across the fresh produce industry for the official opening of their multi-temperature product handling facility at DP World, London Gateway.

The day began with a buffet and drinks reception, followed by speeches from Oliver Treneman of DP World, Nigel Jenney of FPC, Robert Wells of SH Pratt Group and Gavin Knight of Halo. This was followed by the ribbon cutting and a tour of the new state of the art facility.

Gavin Knight, Managing Director of Halo said:

“This has been a 3 year plan, with a significant investment, and I’m very proud of my team and excited to see how the supply chain embraces Halo.” The opening follows the recent news that Halo has passed further quality approval audits from two leading supermarkets. Wayne Milne, Operations Director commented, “To receive the accreditation last week, and then follow up with the official opening is brilliant. We have worked so hard leading up to this point, so to see the hard work come together is great. Now we must kick on and change the supply chain with this amazing state of the art facility.”

Oliver Treneman, Park Development Director, of DP World commented:

“I’m delighted to see this latest development on the Logistics Park open for business. It is a facility seeking to be a major disruptor in temperature-controlled supply chains, leveraging the unique strengths of being positioned on DP World London Gateway Logistics Park which neighbours one of the UK’s largest import hubs for deep-sea fresh and frozen produce, right on the doorstep of London and the UK’s most densely populated consumer market. I’m proud that we were able to hand the bespoke building to Halo and SH Pratt Group in just 24 weeks from the planning application being submitted – and now i’m excited to continue our partnership with Halo and deliver faster, more sustainable fresh and frozen supply chains.”
