East Wemyss is a village situated on the south coast of Fife, Scotland and has recently celebrated the relaunch of its local SPAR store.
Owned and operated by Dundee based SPAR Scotland, the company owned SPAR store has had a refit for local shoppers to enjoy.
The official store launch party took place on 13th July where local shoppers were treated to a fun afternoon where the SPAR spinning wheel was on hand to give-away 100 goody bags and a variety of prizes including SPAR shopping vouchers, Rollover hotdog merchandise, F’real merchandise, t-shirts, BARR merchandise, Swizzels products and Stuart’s the Bakers were also there on the day to provide some free product sampling. There were also special offers on a host of SPAR own label and leading branded daily essential food and drink items.
The store also had support from the Healthy Living Programme (HLP) with free fruit given to shoppers and children.
The 1,584sqft SPAR store has had a raft of changes including new CO2 energy efficient refrigeration installed throughout to provide local shoppers with an increased fresh, chilled, frozen foods and beers, wines and spirits offering.
The front of the store has had a total refresh with a new external SPAR fascia sign and window graphics. The store front door has been moved to create space for the dedicated CJ’s food-to-go area which includes Costa Coffee, Rollover hotdogs, F’real and Tango Ice machines.
Externally and internally the store has been repainted with new internal signage and window graphics providing details of local history of the surrounding area.
The team at SPAR East Wemyss also donated a £500 cheque to local charity – Wemyss Improvement Group.

The store is the latest within the company owned store estate to receive a refit. This is part of an aggressive refurbishment programme that CJ Lang & Son is continuing to roll out within their estate.
SPAR East Wemyss employs twelve members of the local community and is situated at 17 Main Road, East Wemyss. The store is 6am – 10pm, 7 days a week.
