The town of Glenrothes in the heart of Fife, in east-central Scotland is home to a newly relaunched SPAR Scotland convenience store.

Officially relaunched on the 16th of June, local shoppers were treated to a fun afternoon where the SPAR spinning wheel was on hand to give-away 100 goody bags and a variety of prizes including SPAR shopping vouchers, Rollover hotdog merchandise, F’real merchandise, t-shirts, BARR’s merchandise and Swizzels products with Stuart’s the Bakers providing some great free product sampling. There were also special offers on a host of SPAR own label and leading branded daily essential food and drink items.

SPAR Scotland also presented cheques to two local charities. Lomond Court Care Home and Carleton Primary School. Each had representatives there on the day to receive £500 from SPAR Scotland.

The SPAR Scotland company owned store has recently undergone a modern refit and customers are now greeted with new branding externally and internally, a new sales counter, new shelving, and enhanced lighting. All refrigeration cabinets have been replaced with modern, environmentally friendly fridges and freezers.

Steven Irons, Company Owned Stores Director at SPAR Scotland, said: “We are very pleased to welcome the people of Glenrothes to their newly refurbished SPAR store. We are delighted with how the store has turned out – it’s bright and modern and offers a host of new and exciting retail technology. It has been revamped to offer a more customer-focused layout and shoppers can browse our ranges with ease and avail of our extensive chilled offering.”

This is the latest SPAR company owned store to receive a makeover in CJ Lang & Son’s aggressive store development programme. This programme is the catalyst for transforming stores the length and breadth of the country.

SPAR Bighty Avenue employs twelve members of the local community and is situated at 55-57 Bighty Avenue and is open from 7am-10pm Mon-Sat and 8am-10pm on Sunday. Shoppers at the store can also avail themselves of a free ATM machine, Paypoint, Lottery, Calippo Slush, Costa, and a range of food to go items.
