Growth On The Agenda As National Convenience Show Returns.

UK’s leading trade event will help c-store operators and independent retailers flourish by taking advantage of latest trends

19 October 2017 – Over the next five years, the convenience channel is forecast to grow by almost 18% reaching a value of £47bn. April’s National Convenience Show will present convenience stores, independent retailers, symbol groups, off licences and wholesalers with all the tools required to take advantage of this positive outlook.

With over half1 of 18-25-year olds now choosing to shop in a local store and 83% of shoppers revealing they could be encouraged to buy more food-to-go at their main convenience retailer, it is an exciting time to operate in the channel. And from 16-18 April, hundreds of suppliers will be joined by leading experts to help the UK’s 49,918 stores increase footfall and cash-in on increased basket spend.

The show is a must-attend for all owners and buyers to review the best fresh produce and products, as well as identifying new technology and services, from POS support to cutting-edge payment processes, that can improve efficiency and the in-store experience.

Among the companies exhibiting their products and services in April will be: HTEC, TLM Group, My Coffee Station, Fifo Wireless, Kind Snacks, Protein Water, Nestle, Us 4 Slush, Battle Oats, Vow Retail and Blue Ice Machines.

The National Convenience Show will also present the industry with opportunities to learn about the latest consumer trends and receive advice from successful retailers and leading entrepreneurs. The Retailer Hub will return, bringing together leading suppliers, store owners and industry analysts who will share their experience with visitors to help them stay ahead of the game.

What’s more, signalling the importance of the show to the convenience channel, the annual ACS Summit will also run at the event on Tuesday, 17 April. The conference sessions are set to highlight future opportunities within the sector and provide essential key insights for retailers to take home and implement in your store.

Dan Eversfield from the National Convenience Show said: “nine in 10 grocery shoppers visit convenience stores and the projected growth makes it a great time to be in convenience retailing. That said, getting the product mix correct is essential to future success, as is ensuring your store in utilising the best solutions and services. The 2018 edition of the National Convenience Show is crucial to identifying the tools that will enable you to develop your business.”

The National Convenience Show is co-located with four other events – The Ingredients Show, Foodex, Farm Shop & Deli Show and Food & Drink Expo – the country’s premier food and drink event. Together they will bring together 1,500-plus suppliers from across the whole food and drink supply chain, from retailers to manufacturers, making it the place to do business in the industry.
