This Mother’s Day, take Sunday lunch into your own hands with supermarket Aldi’s ‘Mother of all Steaks’, because nothing says ‘I love you, Mum’ more than treating her to one of the biggest steaks around. Back by popularity, Aldi’s gigantic Mother of all Steaks will be available in stores across the UK from Thursday 19th March, but you’ll have to be quick, because once they’re gone, they’re gone.

Made from the finest cuts of 100% British farm assured beef, this 21-day extra thick matured Rump Steak is back for just £4.59 (454g/16oz).

Cooking Directions:

SHALLOW FRY: Add to a well-oiled pan and heat to a high setting. Lightly season the steak with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper, add steak to the pan and sear on both sides for 1 minute. Lower heat to medium-high and continue to cook for the below times, turning occasionally during cooking.
Rare: 6-8 minutes
Medium: 9-10 minutes
Well done: 10-13 minutes

GRILL: Preheat grill to a medium-high heat. Lightly season the steak with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper and place under the grill for the below times, turning occasionally during cooking:
Rare: 8-10 minutes
Medium: 12-14 minutes
Well done: 14-16 minutes
