ReFood, the UK’s leading food waste recycler, has been announced as the ‘sustainability award’ category sponsor at this year’s Oliver Awards. Entering its fifteenth year, the awards celebrate thriving hospitality businesses from across the North of England and the hard-working people behind them.

Taking place on 18 March, the annual event will bring together a panel of culinary experts to judge 16 categories. From ‘best café or deli’ to ‘best fine dining experience’ and ‘best customer service’, entries are open to all hospitality businesses within the LS postcode, and/or the Leeds City Council district, and close on 11 February.

Renowned for its secure, closed-loop food waste recycling solution, ReFood’s sponsorship of the award underpins its commitment to driving sustainability across the hospitality sector.

Philip Simpson, commercial director at ReFood, commented: “We’re delighted to be sponsoring the sustainability category at the 2024 Oliver Awards. As an advocate for sustainable waste management, we believe it’s important to acknowledge and celebrate the efforts of those who share our commitment to driving a greener future.

“While we work across the entirety of the UK, we’re headquartered in Yorkshire, so the Oliver Awards are an important date in the calendar. We understand the challenges that businesses face when looking to become more sustainable, particularly when it comes to reducing food waste. We’re looking forward to celebrating those going above and beyond to reduce their impact on the environment.”
