Three Hares, Sedbergh, transformed into a deli by its owners Nina Matsunaga and James Ratcliffe in July, has just launched online, selling artisan produce to customers nationally.
The couple behind sister business The Black Bull, Sedbergh, took the decision to create an online shop to add to their existing retail offering based on requests from customers around the country, who wanted the locally sourced quality produce Nina uses to create her dishes and some of the wines and beers James serves in the restaurant, delivered direct to their homes.
Products on sale online include an extensive range of craft beers; including offerings from Fell and Hesket Newmarket Brewery.
Organic, bio-dynamic, and natural wines from across the globe; including tipples from closer to home such as sparkling mead from the Northumberland Honey Co.
Quality locally reared farm bred meat, including Mansergh Hall pork and Howgill Herdwick and British cross shorthorn beef.
Award winning British charcuterie from Trealy Farm and the ultimate in smoked wild fish from Woodcock Smokery.
British artisan made cheeses such as Hebden Goat, Leeds Blue, Mrs Kirkham’s Lancashire, St James, and Thornby Moor Dairy.
As well as a whole host of specialist condiments including truffle honey, rose petal vinegar, and Japanese inspired ingredients, including Sakura black vinegar, hand pressed fresh yuzu, and Houjicha tea.
As well as curating a selection of some of the best produce available from across the British Isles, Nina and James have also created a range of ready to eat and frozen meals, which feature Nina’s take on traditional dishes like her festive at home menu, which features Venison Wellington, pickled walnut ketchup, mash and seasonal vegetables. A selection of Japanese curries, homemade stews, as well as a range of pickles, kimchi, and chutneys are also available from the online store.
